AT&T completes acquisition of DIRECTV
Jul 24, 2015 – AT&T (NYSE:T) has completed its acquisition of DIRECTV. AT&T is now the largest pay TV provider in the U.S. and the world, providing service to more than 26 million customers in the United States and more than 19 million customers in Latin America.

Netflix released on the Netgem Platform
Jul 8, 2015 – Netgem has announced a major content upgrade to its Internet TV platform with the addition of Netflix. The new service is already available in Finland with Elisa TV, and Totalplay in Mexico, for an initial reach of over 400,000 subscribers.

Netflix on track for 69.9 million subs by year-end

Latin America OTT TV & video ready for take-off
Jun 22, 2015 – OTT TV and video revenues in Latin America will reach $2.91 billion in 2020; up from the $1.13 billion expected in 2015, according to Digital TV Research. From the $2,126 million in revenues to be added between 2014 and 2020, Brazil will contribute $938 million and Mexico $437 million.

134 million digital TV homes to be added in 2015
May 20, 2015 – The number of digital TV homes worldwide will increase by more than 1 billion between 2010 and 2020 to 1.65 billion – or up by 180%, according to Digital TV Research. The total will climb by 134 million homes in 2015 alone.

Netflix' international business yet to turn a profit

94,000 video subscribers for Mexico's AXTEL TV
Feb 20, 2015 – Axtel has announced fourth quarter results for the period ended December 31, 2014. Axtel launched its pay-TV service, AXTEL TV, on January 30th, 2013, and as of December 31, 2014, video subscribers reached 94 thousand compared to 61 thousand a year ago.
