Telfort launches IPTV for its broadband customers
Aug 9, 2011 – Telfort (Amsterdam:KPN) of the Netherlands is now making available IPTV (Interactieve TV) to all of its broadband customers. The basic package includes 55 TV channels and 90 radio stations, with customers receiving a PVR as part of the service.

Europeans prefer all in one 'packages' for internet, phone and TV
Jul 12, 2011 – Four out of ten Europeans households are buying 'bundled' internet, phone and TV services from a single provider, a new Eurobarometer survey shows. The E-Communications Household Survey was carried out between 9 February and 8 March 2011.

Fastest Global Broadband Growth Since 2009
Jun 21, 2011 – With an increase of over 15.2 million subscribers in the first three months of this year, fixed broadband grew by 2.9% representing an annual growth rate of 11.93%, according to figures announced by the Broadband Forum.

Global pay TV revenues reached US$155 billion in 2010
Jun 13, 2011 – About 338 million digital homes were added around the world between 2006 and 2010, according to a report from Digital TV Research. The Digital TV World Databook estimated that this took the digital TV household total for the countries covered to 576 million.

70% of Dutch TV connections are digital
May 30, 2011 – The number of digital TV connections in the Netherlands grew by 3.8 percent or 204,200 net additions during the first quarter of 2011 to 5.56 million on 31 March 2011, according to Telecompaper's quarterly Dutch Television Subscribers report.

Court of Justice ruling means PVRs escape EU customs duty
Apr 14, 2011 – The European Court of Justice has ruled that for customs purposes decoders with a hard disk drive are set-top boxes and not recording apparatus and so are exempt from customs duties instead of being subject to a rate of 13.9%.
