Sagem ships 180,000 set-top boxes to UNE in Colombia
Mar 4, 2010 – According to NexTV Latam, Sagem has shipped to date 180,000 set-top boxes (STBs) to the Colombian IPTV operator UNE EPM Telecomunicaciones.

Canal+ migrates 490k subscribers to digital in 2009
Mar 1, 2010 – Vivendi (Paris: VIV) has released results for 2009. In metropolitan France, 2009 was marked by the resumption of subscription take-ups in the fall. In total, 490,000 subscribers have transferred to digital since the beginning of the year.

EchoStar to Acquire Mexican Satellite Operator SATMEX
Feb 26, 2010 – EchoStar Satellite Services (NASDAQ: SATS) and Satélites Mexicanos (Satmex) have announced an agreement pursuant to which EchoStar will acquire an ownership interest in Satmex. MVS Comunicaciones will also participate in the ownership of Satmex.

Telefónica España adds 49k IPTV subscribers in 4Q09
Feb 26, 2010 – Telefónica (Madrid and NYSE: TEF) has released its fourth quarter 2009 results. Worldwide, pay TV accesses stood at around 2.5 million at the end of 2009, 9.8% up from a year earlier. In Spain net adds were 48,725 to finish the year at 702,980.

Kudelski Group delivers strong second half 2009 results

Megacable digital cable subscribers up 89% in 2009
Feb 25, 2010 – Mexico's Megacable Holdings (BMV: MEGA.CPO) has announced its results for the quarter ended December 31, 2009. The video segment ended the year with 1,592,841 subscribers, an increase of 7%. Digital cable subscribers were 311,726 up 89% in the year.

Sky Mexico adds 140k subscribers in 4Q09
Feb 25, 2010 – Grupo Televisa (NYSE:TV; BMV: TLEVISA CPO) has announced results for 2009. During the fourth quarter, Sky added 143 thousand subscribers of which 140 thousand were in Mexico and three thousand were in Central America and the Dominican Republic.
